Travel Expense Reimbursement Rates for FY 06

The Commission approved a temporary increase in the premium mileage rate from 40.5 to 48.5 cents effective September 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005 (retroactive). The premium mileage rate is only allowed if an employee requests a state vehicle and none are available or the trip is under 100 miles. The standard mileage rate of 32.8 cents remains the same.

Other reimbursement rates for FY '06 were unchanged. However, several out-of-state cities were added to the "Select Cities" listing of higher cost cities for travel. The Commission also approved a resolution authorizing the State Personnel Director to approve on their behalf any letter of understanding agreed to between the Office of the State Employer and an exclusive representative that provides substantially the same travel reimbursement rates for exclusively represented employees as authorized for non-exclusively represented employees.

Personal Leave and Annual Leave Accruals

Remember to check your annual leave balances to ensure that the personal leave accrual of 16 hours (or partial amounts, where applicable) you gain October 1, 2005 does not cause your annual leave balance to exceed the maximum permitted by Civil Service Rule 5-10 and Regulation 5.09.
